Spring fun with the Neighbor Boys - May 4th

On Sunday, Abby & I went to the local playground with Jack & Charlie and their mom. We had so much fun!

Crappie Fishing - April 29 & 30

The water in the bay is still pretty chilly. Not a lot of activity quite yet with the crappies...but Abby & her dad will be ready!

Here are some snaps of the pair of them fishing off the dock the other night.

It would appear however, that the best part about fishing...according to Abby...is being a human minnow scoop. Abby was quite content to pass time between catches playing in the minnow bucket.



She caught TWO...and shared them with mom.

HAPPY little Girl - Apr 27 & 28

The sun may not be shining on us (brrrrrrrrrrrrrr)...
but apparently good fortune is!
We were lucky enough to adopt a swingset
that someone else's family has outgrown.

Worm Picking - April 24, 2008

Thursday night Abby & I went outside to play in the rain and the puddles. We mostly picked worms. She's sometimes a touch on the girly-side...but then she goes and plays with worms. She found a big fat juicy one in our driveway and decided Joe would really like it.

So we carried it into the house and upstairs (Joe was up working on our broken shower in our broken bathroom - long story) and proudly presented him with the slimy gift.

"Oh wow!" he exclaimed. "Thank you so much. Abby, did you pick this one out for me? Oh wow! I like it."

How sweet! (and slimy!)

Off to the Races - Apr 13

A harness horse racing track just opened in FL...we were a bit curious. So last Sunday we went to check it out.
The HORSEYS were SO cool! And SO fast!

Abby got to touch this horse on the nose....twice! She was ecstatic and kept telling everyone she touched the horse's nose.

Joe placed a bet...and won....we were ahead by $1.50...and then Abby & mommy got ice cream...and spent our winnings!

Easter - Mar 23

We had SUCH a great Easter.

Abby colored eggs on Saturday morning. (That pink t-shirt looked more like a tie-dye shirt before the task was done. But oh well!)

Sunday, we had Easter lunch at our house. Grandma & Grandpa Tuma, Auntie Carrie & Uncle Chad, and Evan & Emma were our guests.

The Easter Bunny brought Abby a pair of "puddle boots" in her Easter basket. Puddles are a very big part of Abby's world right now. Partially thanks to the shoddy road-repairs near our house...thanks city of F.L. But, if life hands you lemons...make lemonade. And if life hands you pond-sized potholes...get puddle boots!

Abby & Emma had a tea party in Abby's play house.

Abby & Evan shared some Cheez-its and watched 101 Dalmations. (Another Easter Bunny gift.)

We went outside to play. It was a true Minnesota Easter...snow snow snow.

Evan & Chad went for a cruise on the wheeler.

And the ladies decided to make a snowman.

Palm Sunday Brunch: March 16

We had brunch on Palm Sunday with family in Northfield.

Auntie Char's yoga ball was the supreme hit of the party for the kids. (For me...it was the egg bake!!)

Spring Fever Strikes - Mar 14

Abby was looking at photos and saw pictures of herself swimming in her pool last summer. She then began to plead and beg to go swimming.

So we did what Minnesotans sometimes have to do...we played make-believe to pretend it was summer again.

We went swimming in the bathtub!

It made her happy, for now...but summer better hurry up!!

Girly Boutique Playhouse - Mar 13

Several of Abby's friends have really cool pop-up tents and forts. She loves playing in them, so we wanted to get something similar for Abby for her upcoming birthday. I recently found something very cute and froo-froo girly and ordered it right away.

The package arrived and was waiting on our front step when we got home yesterday. I am such a softy. I was too excited to wait until May so I gave it too her right away.

She loves it!

She invited Daddy in to play. And Millie. (and eventually mommy too.)

Junior Ranger: March 3

Abby strutted around the house in her Junior Ranger vest from Grand Canyon National Park the other night. It was a gift from Uncle Jon when she was an itty bitty brand new baby. She added a bright blue feather boa to the ensemble shortly after this photo was snapped. Very fashion-forward.
