Sesame Street Live has been cleverly advertising their performace for months on PBS. Whenever their commercial would come on, Abby would begin a chorus of chants, "Melmo? Melmo? Melmo? PLEEEEEZ. Melmo?"
So, off we went Saturday afternoon to see the magical red man in person!
We settled into our seats and, when the curtains opened and ELMO'S voice rang through the Target Center, Abby's eyes grew bigger than I've ever seen them and her face went completely slack. She immediately broke into enthusiastic heartfelt applause! I almost started to cry for how HAPPY she was!
The second half of the performance began with the Elmo's World theme song, along with Dorothy the goldfish and Mister Noodle...all "regulars" at our house. Abby jumped up and started dancing like mad. She was THRILLED!
Here you can see another example of a thoroughly spoiled little girl. Abby is holding her fifteen dollar Elmo spinning flashlight, which will likely spend the rest of its red plastic life somewhere near the bottom of the toybox...but...she HAD to have it....and she spun it throughout most of the show.

Tehya and I also enjoyed the Sesame Street Live performance last week - although I have to say you are a MUCH better mom than I am as I was a meanie and said no to the spinning flashlight and the huge elmo balloon!
Dude, did you see how many of those EIGHT DOLLAR balloons floated up to the rafters about 5 minutes into the second half?
tragic.
